I'm 99% convinced my fish that i thought were a pair of Blues are in fact not. I've been so chuffed with myself because the fry are about a month old and I have 11 still going strong in thier own tank, yet I'm now sure they're cross breeds.

Does anyone know what the fry will turn into, Blues, Terrors or a kind of half breed? I just don't know.
:dunno:

The most annoying thing is when I bought the newest fish ( the Terror) it was sold to me as a Geo Brazilenis !!!!!!!

It was very small at the time, but after a few weeks I could tell it was no Geo, but thought it was an Acara.

Has anyone had any experience of this or know, heard of this happening before, I can't be the first person this has happened to, can I ?

I doubt that you are the first person ever but you very well may be the first person on here. The fry will technically be a hybrid. Even if the babies look like one and not the other. Sorry this happened to you. I would take the misidentified fish back and demand my money back on it. It's not what you asked for. However the fry may turn out very interesting.

The Green Terror is a species of Acara and because they are related they will cross pretty easily and the fry may not end up looking so bad. Hopefully you won't distribute them either way though.
