I fed frozen bloodworms for the first time a few days ago... And Wow! It was one of the most adorable things! The Tetras got SO excited, and started zipping around the tank. I assume they could smell it... Of course, they could not FIND them, since they sink, and the loaches just sat at the bottom eating enough food to feed 10 fish :X HOPEFULLY they'll figure it out and start going down, or else the loaches are going to have some serious weight problems ^^

I put a few in my other tank, where Berry the Betta rests... I don't know much about Berry's aggression since he's not in site of any other living fish... But when I put them in, apperently the smell upset him... because he FLARED at them! It was so adorable. He then proceeded to attack them one by one ^_^

Today, being weak and puny, I could not BREAK the blod of bloodworms... So there was twice as much thawed as my fish can eat. I decided to give the other half to my moms overstocked 10 gallon (I can't convince her that she needs to get rid of her loached, as they've severly outgrown the tank). Her fish are obviously much smarter then mine, as they all figured it out and darted to the bottom! They acted as if they were starved (which I know they are not), freaking out over this new food. I left them alone, as I know the loached wont come out if I was standing there, and I thought they could use the extra protien the most ^_^

I'm sure that all you people who feed these regularly get used to this... But when it isyour first time, and the fishes first time... The cuteness is UNBEARABLE!

And also, just a random note... When I was digging through the petstore freezer full of fish food and frozen critters (which make me cringe, being a rat lover), I found a Banquet Frozen Chicken Dinner. I asked an employee about it, they denied knowing why it was there ^____^ Was an odd site. I considered trying to buy it, just to see what they would do.

I've fed bloodworms to angel juvies once in a while. It's funny to see a small fish swim around with a bloodworm that it can hardly eat due to the size difference. It looks like a bunch of fish with their tongues sticking out.

The frozen dinner sounds like someone forgot their lunch at work. At least it wasn't fish sticks.

i have just fed my first bloodoworm too!its great to see them go mad.I couldnt break the cube up and i have afew fat fishies now

Aw I know - I have to stop myself feeding them bloodworms all the time!

Just as a tip I visited (not from choice I hasten to add) a local fishing tackle suppliers because my husband likes to go fishing. I asked if they stocked frozen tropical food (scared of being laughed out of the shop) - however, they did - apparently certain larger fish like them too. I ended up with a HUGE block of it for £10. I think he said it was a litres worth - can't remember. However it must be 20 times the amount you buy in those little blocks from the lfs and although you have to chop it up when you need it - it actually works better because you can feed the exact amount you want.

Might be worth a visit - if you can cope with the embarassment of a hairy assed angler laughing at you!!  :dunno: :nerd:

Well have you ever fed live bloodworm - now that's a spectacle to watch
All the fish in the tank go absolutely insane and my pim pictus looks like it's possessed or stung by bees because it just goes completely and utterly mental.
