Would anything bad happen if i were to feed my fish bloodworm everyday? Theres a reason i would want to do this, just wondering if its wise or not...

Kev

No more than twice a week, to much protein.

Well,

A few of my corys are in need of alot of protein and bloodworm and sera nip tabs (full of protein) are all i can think of :(

You can feed three times a week, but to much protein can be a bad thing, can lead to swim bladder problems.

what fish are we talking about?

but too much protein is not a reason as froozen bloodworm has a protein level below 15% IIRC and any good tropical food will be around 40%

asmentioned nothing should be fed everyday as it's not a healthy diet, by all means you can vary the froozen foods you use though.

Well its the corys that need the protein but all the fish will eat the bloodworm if i were to put it in

Thanks :)

As you already know feeding the same thing every day is not goo for the fish. a varied diet is really much better. You say your cories are in need of protien? My shovelnose came in with some nipped up fins so to introduce a lot of protien to its diet i went to my LFS and bought 2 types of frozen foods. i have frozen beef heart, and frozen brine shrimp.

If you feed more than one type of protien rich food you can give your cories a good source of protien and keep their diet varied. personally with my fish i feed frozen beefheart 3 days a week, brine shrimp 2 days a week, lettuce or other veggies 1 day and than sunday is a fasting day. it seems like its not varied but i also feed flakes almost every day, shrimp pellets sometimes, and maybe once or twice a week i feed catfish pellets.

One important thing to remember is that fish need protien to help them grow and recover from any injuries they may sustain but just as important as the protien is the digestion. i feed my fish lettuce, cucumber, or peas as a veggie because it helps them digest their food.

For a cory i would suggest feeding them cucumber. You can put it in a cup of water and microwave it a few minutes to get it to sink to the bottom. also my cories seemed to like algae tablets. Good Luck!

I do give them a mixed deit... i buy frozen packs of Ruto frozen food in 3's. I buy a pack of Bloodworm and 2 packs of this mix. In the mix you get 4 blocks of bloodworm, 4 daphnia, 4 brimestrimp, 4 tubilex worms and 4 Black mosquito larvae.

i havent been here a while so you should list your tank size and what is in it. for my 55 gallon SA + oddball tank it would not be too much but for a 10 gallon it would be

i would do 2 cubes when you feed. angels are hungry guys ya know. plus if they dont finish it you have many cories and some rams to finish the job. i am not saying you should overfeed though. simply stating that the angels will finish most of that along with the rams so if a little bit is left over its no big deal

so... 2 blocks, once a week? or 3 times a week? the fish are all still smallish angels bout 2" and rams an inch and a half but 3 of the corys are 3~4" :)

thanks

i would say 2 blocks once a week until the angels hit about 4-5 inches then go to 2 blocks twice a week

Damn I'm feeing my clown almost every day blood except on weeken I toss some cucumber for them. But they dont seem to have much problem with health. I cant seem to get them eat my shrimp tablet :(.
