I got a 2 inch Blood Parrot( not those silly dyed one's, i know better!). It is in a 30g tank with:
1 angel
3 molly's
5 black skirted tetra's
2 guppies
2 Zebra Danio's

I was wondering if you guys/girls had any tip's or comment's abotu this set up, or my Baby Blood Parrot!

i would say once it gets bigger the guppies days are numbered maybe danios two but as far as setup just like any american cichlid wood and some stones for hiding ur smaller fish will need it

I figuerd that the guppies day's will be numbered, as they always die within 4 week's of me purchasing them! The naio's will be hard to catch as they just dart around, hitting wall's all the time. Thanks for the info. Anyone else?

feed peas, flake, catfish pellets, cichlids sticks, tetra prima and other granules, and frozen food.
The tank is way to small for an adult and it will outgrow it in 1/2 a year, probably needing atleast a 55 gallon when adult.
I'd try to get another BP as they are very social fish and like the company of each other.

I plan on getting rid of it eventually, as i know that it will probably get to big( it might be one of those bubble gum one's, not sure). I was told Bubble Gum Parrot's only get 4 inches. I will see if i can get another one for christmas. He has become very shy, but sometime's he is acting like the tetra's. I have noticed that he will ahng upside down at night. Is this Normal? I feed him O.S.I. Blood Parrot Pellet's, which he seem's to enjoy. I also feed him alkinds of flakes that i feed my other fish.

If you cant upgrade, don't get another one..

Stunting parrots is baad.. They will die within a few years if you stunt them. I stunted a bunch of them and none of them made it to 2 years.

I dont think im going to get another one anyway. It seem's happy already. I also dont want to have a giant bio-load! He has been getting some dark blotches on his body, could he be coloring up? He is orange, i bought pellets that are supposed to make him turn red, but he is turning darksih grey black! Could he be sick?

How big is he?
I agree on the stunting thing I stunted my discus and in the last two months 3 have died for no reason (barely 2 years old).

My parrot fish is currently about 4 inches in length ive only had him a year he eats every food i put in the tank even cucumber. I have a silver shark that is a bit bigger than him and they always fight at feeding time no damage is ever done though. When he is not being fed Patrick as my mum has named him is quite placid he lives with angels, clown loaches, platies, plecs and my silver shark.

I stoped feeding him O.S.I. Blood Parrot Pellet's, and now he is orange. I thought the stuff was supposed to make him red??? What's going on?

I don't really know, could be stress, it sounds like its going from extreme to extreme though!? lol.Baby parrots are grey, changing to there full colouring at 3-4 inches. What I don't understand is how he was orange and then turned grey/black?!
Got any pics?

I bought him orange with a little grey on his head. Then i started to feed him the pellet's and everyday on those pellet's he turned more grey. So i figuerd it must be the pellet's, so i swicthed t another type of foos, and he turned orange again, no he is completely orange, no black dont on his face! Why is this happening? I want him red!!!!!!!!!!!
