I lost one about 4 weeks ago but that one had no bloating, I also lost a Blue Gourami to a possible bacterial infection, these are the first deaths in my tank for well over 18 months and I have added no new fish in this time. This bloated fish is acting and eating as normal, am I being paranoid?

p.s. The white spot on him is a scale I think, no other fish have white spots.

Have you tested the water, OP?

I'm not sure what to suggest, apart from fasting the fish for two or three days and doing a very large water change. If it doesn't improve, it might be best to euthanise, or at least isolate, the sick fish so it doesn't infect any of the others.

If any other fish start to show symptoms, you could try a course of Myxazin, which is very good for bacterial problems.

when doing water changes check nitrate and ammonia levels. if you have a gravel vaccum use it when doing water changes. if you have a air pump put a bubble wand in there if the water needs to be airated more
