sounds like part of her intestine that is being forced out due to the bloating. If a fish suddenly bloats up it is usually an internal bacterial infection and there isn't much you can do about it.
we just bought some internal parasite medicine. going to cross our fingers and hope for the best. i'll let you guys know what happens. thanks for the quick responses all of you.
Is the fish still eating? You could also try medicated food with antibiotics. I've also heard magnesium sulfate (epsom salts) added to the water fixes constipation, but no idea on the dose rate. Also if she's not constipated that will drive her mad.
she's still been eating. i have a question because i'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. i have a swordtail that has frye twice. the first time was about the time she should have had hers. could having two different breeds being pregnant at the same time throw one of them off?
whoa. total change in discussion. 2 hours ago we pet her in a breeder bag so only she would eat the parasite med. and now their is a baby. i'll let you guys know what happens. hopefully a small glimmer of hope.
