Hi folks

Recently added my first fish to my tank - seven guppies, all males I believe.

One of them died yesterday - not unnatural I wouldn't have thought given I believe some fish simply aren't strong enough to make it.

But what's worrying me is one of the others has a really swollen stomach. He seems to be swimming around happily enough and is part of the group - but he also appears to have a bit of poo constantly hanging out. Seems to be a reddish colour. Is this poo? Could it be something else? Do you think he may have over-eaten and is constipated. I think I added too many blood worms yesterday by accident so I'm thinking this may be the problem - in which case does anyone know how best to solve it? All the other fish seem fine.

Water paramaters are 0, 0, 0 with a ph approx 7.

How many gallons is the tank.
What test kit are you using.

Did you do a fishless cycle or using the guppys to cycle the tank.

Over feeding bloodworms can cause bloating.
Only feed bloodworms twice a week and sparingly.

Feed some shelled peas.
Cook frozen peas for a few minutes. Let cool down and pop out of shell.
Chop into small pieces and add to the tank.

Make sure it is poo and not a red worm. As guppys can get camallanous worms.
Signs of camallanous worms are.

Long stringy white poo, clear mucas poo, or red poo.
Red worms prutruding from the anus of the fish.
Enlarged anus, or red inflamed anus.
Fish will look bloated or skinny.
Sunken in belly sometimes.
Bent spine sometimes.
Fish will sometimes swim on it's side.
Spitting out sometimes, and also flicking and rubbing sometimes.
