Hey everyone,

One of our many tanks is a 20 gallon...stock:
- 1 High-fin female platy (her growing babies will join her soon :p)
- 5 female guppies
- 1 Port Acara with a severely bent spine (my baby  , he can't really swim well)
- 4 Panda cories

About 5 days ago, I noticed one of the guppies was really bloated. Like, pineconed scales. So I was like, 'crap, dropsy' and separated her. She was dead within the day...
Since then, the other 5 females have been sitting at the top of the tank, bunched together, breathing really fast. Two of them are bloating up the same way the other female was...

I fed them frozen bloodworms to try and perk them up, which they all ate. However, everyone's poo (just the guppies) is white and stringy, not indicative at all of the flake food or bloodworms :/

The platy and cories are acting fine. Jack, the port acara, spends all his time in his cave, so he's not acting strangely.

I treated the tank 3 days ago with Jungle Internal Parasite Clear, 4 tablespoons every other day.
Everyone's still acting weird.

I've not done a water test, probably should, but is there anything else that would make them act strangely? I was thinking maybe the guppies are plugged up with babies, but they haven't been around males for roughly 4 months, and I've not found fry for about 2 months :/

I don't know what to do...:(

Could be constipation, feeding them bloodworms wasn't the best idea. Fish with internal parasites tend to not eat, they will eat with constipation & bloat.

Since they are eating, try feeding shelled green peas, this is a natural constipation remedy. Epsom salt in the water also helps constipation, start with one teaspoon per 10 gallons of tank water. Increase by a teaspoon per 10 gallons daily for a maximum of 3 teaspoons per 10 gallons.

Pineconing is not a good symptom, neither is white stringy poo. Tolak is right. Treat for constipation and bloat. Veggies and in addition daphnia are the recommendations. Rich foods are not recommended. I would separate the sick guppies, et al , from the others and do major water changes.
