I am starting to worry now, The pic below is from 2 weeks ago, Now the fish is even more bloated, I couldnt tell you about its toitlet habits due to it only coming out at night, We feed the fish 3 times a week in the evening and the feather fin misses out on most of the food due to it being so shy, Could the fish be ill???

Yes does look really bloated, can you try it on some shelled peas, try and watch out for when it goes to the toilet, and just to be on the safe side can you issolate the fish.

I can try to isolate it, I was thinking the same too, Its a lot more bloated now, That pic was from 2 or 3 weeks ago, I wasnt worried at the time cos it did eat alot, Now it doesnt seem to get to as much food due to it being so shy and it is getting more and more bloated, I will be really upset if something serious is wrong, It is one of my favorite fish

Only thing to do is try and get some peas down it, or an epson salt bath i no they are scaless but it might help draw the fluid out if it's not internal parasites.

What do you feed the fish usually.

Mine love prawns the meal worms and bloodworms, frozen, live or freezedried.

Were the meal worms live then before you froze them.

It's not them then, it could be a bacteria infection or parasite, it's finding out which one,but either way it's not good.

Sorry yes it could be as a bloated tummy isn't normal, if it was constipation, peas and daphnia help, but he's not eating, that's why a salt bath might get things moving.
