I went to a shop today where they stock large feather fins, Looked at one the same size as ours, No bloating at all, Asked the bloke at the counter who wasnt an expert on tropical fish, He asked the usual questions, He said it sounds like its pregnant, I am not convinced.
The fish seems fine though, No signs of illness what so ever, Looks ok (apart from the bloating) Swims ok, Everything seems ok. He is still eating, Fed the fish in the 50 gallon last night, Feather fin did come out, Hoovered up at least 50% of the meal worms I put in.

Not reported but would be a prime candidate for hormone production, if that is not being done already. Sexing can be quite easy in well fed individuals as the females can get quite heavy while the males stay comparatively slim. You can sex them of course by the genital papilla which drops down in the male to a point while the females are blunt.
