Ok, im sure this topic has been approached quite often, but i wanted the quickest possible diagnosis i could find, and what better a place than my beloved fish forum?

I have a very bloated danio. Symptoms include;

Bloated (no way!?)
swimming at the very top of the tank
Fins outstretched
swimming in circles, every now and then bobbing along somewhere else in the tank

Things im quite sure its not;

Dropsy, no pushed out scales
um...and thats about all

I was wondering if it could be constipated?
Its just that it doesnt seem 'lethargic' at al, its fins are flapping quite quickly to keep it hovering in place

Any suggestions?
Would appreciate it! :look:

Try feeding some de-shelled mushed peas see if this rids it of it's "bloatedness".

Hi
I had the same problem and eventually my danio died

When I had a good look at her and did an autopsy
I found her crammed full of eggs.
EGG-BOUND is a common problem in Danios.

Is there anything you can do for a danio that is egg-bound, can you save a fish in this state ?

Thanks.

I didn't get the chance to help mine
but
when I discussed it with my local aquarium supplier all he could suggest
was to try and gently squeeze the eggs out of her ???????

Wouldn't like to be an eggbound danio !!!!!

If it works and she survives great

if you don't try it --------- she may die !!!
