Hi,

Bought five blind cave tetras about two weeks ago and I absolutely love them - they are so active and it's so much fun watching them search for food. Amazing how well they swim considering they can't see!

Anyhow, a couple of them have been getting bigger and I was thinking that they were pregnant. But today I noticed that one of them has a weird looking stomach - like there are two lumps (like the look of a camel with double humps but upside down).

So I'm now thinking that maybe it's a tumour - unless for some reason the blind cave tetras have some weird stomach when they are pregnant?

Thanks to anyone who can help. I've attached some pictures - they're the best I could get as they are quite active and don't stop moving much at all. Hope you can see what I'm talking about.

If you see white or clear specs on the stomach area that look like eggs, they are most likely eggs. I'm gonna guess and say this isn't pregnant, because the lump is lopsided kinda like a (pardon my french) butt.
