Well, I do believe my Honduras Red Points have spawned!! Unfortunately they are now in my main cichlid community tank but they are doing a fine job of warding everyone off so far! Even when my 5" Ellioti swims near they're both out wiggling at him to tell him to back off. Maybe, just maybe 1 or 2 might survive.

If this spawn is not successful then I might have to buy another tank... :look: :hey:

Well cuffed to say the least. Bought them for £15 which is probably a bit over the odds as wharf aquatics have them in at 2 for £9 but they're not guaranteed to be a breeding pair though.

Will keep you updated. Pictures are awkward to say the least as they have chosen the back corner of the tank to spawn on a rounded stone. The tank is about an inch away from the wall so I have to try and wedge my phone down there to get a picture. Lol.

Cheers, David.

Congrats! Are you gonna feed them or just let them scrounge and whatever happens happens?

Thanks.

How do you mean feed them? I will be adding fine bbs from about 3 or 4 days after they become free swimming. Or should I say IF, or have I misunderstood? :look:

Parents seem to be eating well too. There is numerous caves and a plant pot along with loads of hide holes and they have chosen the most awkward one of all!!

I was unsure of them being eggs but I have managed to get a picture and zoom in on it and they definitely are. Possibly about 20-30. I will upload a picture when I get on the computer.

Here's a quick picture of the eggs on the back of the stone in the very back corner of the tank... Very awkward indeed to get to! lol.

When should they become wrigglers? The parents.are wandering off a bit more now, don't know if this is because they think they have warded everyone off enough to know bot to other or not? They're soon back though protecting them. Quite funny to see them both against 2 spot! Haha.
