My son never ceases to amaze me. He knew I had an empty 30g up and running and that I was deciding what to place in it. All on his own and with his allowance he went out and bought me 4 new fish. Now the bad news, after researching my gifts Ive discover that these guys will most likely kill each other when they get bigger if not housed in a larger aquarium. The new fish are as follows:
1 Aurutus
1 blue zebra
1 type of hap....havnt found out wich one yet
1 Kenyi

My question is this, would these guys be ok in a 55g and if so should more be added to spread out aggresion? I heard that the Aurutus can be a real nutcase. I have a 200g custom ordered I was going to use for a dovii but I can put the Dovii on hold for now. I can set the 200 up as a massive Mbuna tank or I can take my JD and GT out of the 55 and use that as a Mbuna set as well. Any help will be appreciated. Thanx

Kids, you gotta love em.

A 55 gal would be perfect for all except the hap, he really needs to go back. You could also add a lot more Mbuna to a 55, anything in the region of 15-20 fish in total. Compatibility is the key, the 3 mbuna you have are all agressive fish but should cope OK with each other.

You could add some more of the species you have and other species aswell. Do some research though if you are going to proceed, done properly you could have a wonderful Mbuna community as the 55 gal is the perfect sized tank. Post any choices you fancy here for some good advice.

No need to change your plans with the 200 gal. :D
