they're not channa bleheri, they are chnna sp. assam, very nice though, could do with more plants and hidind places such as wood etc, what temperature is the water? and how big is that tank?

well for that angelfisg to be alive the water must be tropical, if them snakeheads are in water above 22 celcius for and long period of time they will suffer and possibly die. they need to be between 18-20 celcius long term with colder lengths to simulate their winter. the angel fish shouldn't be in there with them.

strange i got them as bleheri? a no i was thinkin they were not the same as soon i had seen but they only just under 3in. the temp is 19C. i no need more hiding places just havin a problem went to get more plants today but the had no were close to what they normaly have in stock. ok now i need help thanks for the info dave

edit. yer your right m8 thanks for the heads up on that all most got some blehri to go with them now i think your a life saver they were sold as rainbow snakeheads or blue blehri which now i no fish shops some times sell them as thanks alot top bloke.

well when they was first introduced into the hobby most sold them under the name of 'blue bleheri' mostly because people thought they was a variation of the bleheri, which they aren't, if you have been reading up on bleheri then their upkeep is basically the same so don't worry too much about that, 19 degrees celcius should be fine for them, they won't grow as big as bleheri, average around 5" although a couple of mine were nearer 6". how many do you have? they will fight as they get bigger and if a male and female pair off they will beat up the rest, and its not uncommon for the bonded pair to kill the rest of them. they don't like water changes, so don't do them a lot, and when you do only change like 15-20% max at a time.
the angel fish won't be happy at that temperature so i'd re-home it.
