So...I was wondering. Would throwing some blackworms in my 77 gal tank with sand+soil substrate be a bad idea? Would they aerate the soil and feed my fish ? or would it be to much of a problem with added bioload etc...? I got a few Kuhli loaches, Corries and many rainbow fish. Might even throw in the smallest possible eel in their.

My first thought was wow! This is a brilliant idea. Stuff will be digging my substrate fish will dig and eat....everyone will be happy. :hyper:
But then I thought....wait...I know nothing about that stuff. This is my first seriously planted tank I never dealt with live food either. I tried googling but I havent found anything conclusive either way.

well i have Malaysian Trumpet snails mooching around in my substrate aerating it constantly and at night they appear all over the plants munching on any algae they find.

If the worms die and rot in the substrate you have a problem, other than that i can not see many problems.
