Sometimes Right, Sometimes Wrong but ALWAYS certai
In my signiture you can see my matured but newly planted Betta tank as it was (and is now) 4 weeks ago.
Over the last 4 weeks this black, almost sooty, stuff that keeps building up on the (real) plants.
I am no gardener in ANY field so open for suggestion
All my stats are perfect (as always
) and the only additive I use is Flourish plant fert.
I do weekly water changes (approx 40%) and it has the canopy trickle filter system.
My lights are on a couple of hours in the am. and about five in the evening. Shaded, low ambient light during the day.
This water change I took out all the plants and cleaned them. The black stuff comes off when rubbed between finger and thumb. It seems to be mostly in the tip few inches. I don't really want to have to remove the plants for cleaning every water change
I don't like adding chemicals (especially as it is a Betta set-up) but are there any remedies for this condition?
