Black Spotted Swordtail Fry!

well my swordtail let lose 2 nights ago. I woke up to about 25 live fry and unfortunately the mom didn't make it for some reason... I have a feeling it was stressed due to me putting it in the breeder tank...too small...oh well
I'll have another if they all or some at least make it.. I have them on my live feed

Awww. They're really cute! I never had much success breeding swords, only ever found three fry. I hope that your fry do well.

Have 5 Black mollie fry in the baby tank now!...lol
 
well I managed to get all the swords only because I had her in a breeder but I think her being in there was too much and she was belly up when I woke up.... I think maybe she had mor to go yet as her gravid spot wa still quite large but got a couple dozen all alive.
 
I am never comfortable feeeding them as I always feel I give them too much at once.
 
I netted the 5 black molly fry this morning and the was one or 2 still swimming around but I think I just saw the male swordtail eliminate one!

so we'll see what happens overnight... hope a couple make it on thier own...

Are they still on your live feed? also, I have found that a turkey baster is the perfect way to suck up the little babies without stressing the tank mates, or messing up my decorations.
