My brother just called, and mentioned this,so I don't have a lot of details. Thought it could possibly be a common thing and y'all could answer without much detail.

He has a molly...who has been sick but has been moved back to the "home" tank. She had those yucky parasite worms. Anyway, now she is developing some black spots. He says it just looks like a pigment change or something. They aren't raised or anything. :/

Just curious if anyone had any ideas. Not seeing it, I know it's a difficult call, but I decided it can't hurt to ask! :fun:

Thanks gup gup, but no, she isn't preggers. It isn't her gravid spot. Believe me, if there is one thing my brother knows about it is a pregnant fish.....they've had boocoos of fry!!!!

not spot.....spots. I just talked to him again so I asked him where the spots were exactly. She has several on her back, on her tail and on her chest/belly.

He doesn't seem too worried...yet. I guess I'm just curious.

send a photo missie it might just be serious, i didnt think my guppys receadeing tail fin was serous until it was to late  it may be a fungus or sumthing, if u cant send a photo i would drop ur water temp. down to 75 and add a teaspoon of salt per 10g's that will clear her up nicely.

I'm headed to my brother's house tomorrow....I'll see about getting a pic! :)

Sounds like black spot to me, which is a rare parasite. Some parisite meds. and salt should clear it up. Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone. I spoke to sunflower in chat the other day and she thought it was black spot as well. I've informed my brother and sister in law so we'll see how it goes!

:D
