It sounds like this description and some others I've read elsewhere. I got 3 Honey Gourami's last week, the seem to be settling in well and look healthy but I've noticed small black spots appearing on 2 of the gouramis, both seem to have them around the mouth and top of the head. I'm not 100% sure but it seems like the Gouramis are eating young snails. I do seem to have quite a few pond snails I've been removing them so far as I didn't think they'd cause much of a problem and I'm wary of using a snail treatment. Whats my best course of action now? My tank currently has 7 Gold Tetras, 1 Danio Sp Burma (At least thats what I think it is, I got this fish through an accident of the dealer and haven't been able to find any more) and the 3 Gouramis. I've tried a weighted piece of lettuce but it didn't really work.
My nitrites and ammonia are 0, nitrates 5-10, I do weekly 25% water changes, the tank has never undergone any treatments or anything.
Thanks for any help given.
