pictures dont do it justice its much darker than it looks and very fine

jacko,

Is that the 25kg ??

Err i mean, on the link it's on offer, so does the orig price of £35.99 seem about right for 25kg of the stuff ???

And is there any gauge as to the darkness in reality when it's in a tank ?

Black being say 10 and the very lightest grey being say 1

Or if you feel adventurous, open 'paint' in windose, and try to create colour smaple lol

(found a price linked site, but no darn price, well it says £0.00 lol, but for only 2.5kg's !!! so wondered if the 35.99 is for 25kg or 2.5kg ? )

Cheers

yes be sure to give it a good wash it makes everything it touches black when its first wet i was very happy i washed mine really well it would have been a total nightmare otherwise

my buckets still black now was fantastic once tank was full though didnt have any clouding at all

Thanks Again :)

Tony

ps: hopefully the OP will be chuffed when he wakes up and checks his post :p

hopefully yeah

dont know how big a tank you need it for my tanks 3foot x 2foot and the sands about 2" deep at the front and about 3" at the back

Hiya,

It's a 6'x2'x2' just shy of 150 uk gals (less substrate and not being filled to the brim)

Reckon 184 pound of the stuff for a 2" base

So 184llb into kilos is just over 3 bags, so i will have spare 3/4 bag or so that'll do a 96L tank i want to surprise the fiancee as a betta tank (she lost her betta ages ago, so a spare tank done into a large betta is my treat to her)

Cheers

Tony

my tanks half the size exactly of yours its made to fit a gap or it would be bigger
quite short lived betta's arent they only meant to live around 2 years ?

Well to get this new tank up 22 steps into a flat it was the largest we could manage to fit in

But i have a cunning plan ....................

The fiancee is so in love with this six footer, i even floated this idea passed her and didn't get an outright 'No' ..............

The six footer is on a 11' wall, tank is centred, we have a spare bedroom that could take a six footer at max

Why not we have the company that made the six footer come out and build on-site a nine footer on the 11' wall, leaving a foot each side :p or even just an 8ft tank !!

Would cost a fair bit (2x 9ft tank cost i think for on-site build) but if we ever moved, i could take the nine footer apart and have it rebuilt if needbe ;) (cunning idea i'm gonna keep chipping away at her with lol)

Really, i could of hired a cherry picker, had nephew remove a window and send a nine footer up and in (job done) but hindsight's a wonderful thing

Hehe, i can all but hope anyways

Must say i can't wait to show here that substrate pic tomorrow after work i think she'll love a dark substrate as i painted the back black and she loved that :)

Cheers

Tony

Hiya,

I hadn't used it myself, hence the reply you quoted

But jacko32 had, and answered questions

Said it's very dark (as-in the picture on the linked site) which is where i'll be getting mine from

The replies hopefully help you

They certainly have made my mind up, ordering four bags after my holiday ;)

Tony
