Hi posted this before but still getting it.

It is the small tank in my signiture. Last week I took out all the plants, cut away any die-offs and gently cleaned off the black stuff between finger and thumb.

Week later it's coming back

I keep the tank shaded from sunlight and the room is quite dull during the day. Lights on a couple of hours very early and about 5 hours in the evening. I add Flourish ferts weekly. Well filtered and weekly partial water changes.

The tank has been going for a year but the plant lay-out is about 8 weeks in.

Here is a picture (sorry about the reflection!)

i've been told it's black beard algea and having a lack of CO2 causes it. so having a CO2 system would help eventually get rid of the stuff on the plants. I haven't gotten my CO2 system yet, but I'm still shopping around and going to try it out.
