I have 6 black neon tetra's in a 30l tank, with no other fish.

One is larger that the others and sometimes has what looks like a string of pink poo coming out of its anus. There are no other symptoms, although it is a bit of a bully and may do some fin nipping.

The 'poo' is a single string, sometimes in a couple of slight segments, and drops away after a bit of swimming.

I feed Nutrafin complete flake food, and once, a couple of weeks ago, gave them some daphnias.

Is it just poo or is it a parasite/intestinal worm? If 'yes' what is the best way of dealing with it? We were going to take it back to our LFS to exchange because of the nipping, which we can't do if it's ill, but if we get rid of it any other way will the worm, if that's what it is, have spread?

Thanks in advance.

p.s Have not recorded usual water stuff as this doesn't seem relevant - but most things seem fine with the water quality,

I've used that nutrafin isnt it small pink flakes, as that why the poo is pink.
Nothing to worry about though they do need frozen foods and veg in there diet.
Internal parasites, long clear white or stringy poo, or red blood poo.

Thanks alot.

Yeah nutrafin does have some pink flakes.

We haven't noticed the others pooing atall, but having inspected the 'poo' it is a reddy browny pinky colour. and doesn't hold any shape when squished (mmm, squished fish poo!). Does this still sound ok?

As for the veg, what would you recommend? We're still quite new to all this
