I bought 4 black moors yesterday from my not-so-local LFS. When I took the bag out to float it in their new tank, one of them was looking really dogdy - poor thing. He was still alive, but not moving at all, and floating on his side and upside-down. Thing is, he's still doing it at the moment! He sort of floated up to the top this morning and had some flakes, but I'm still really worried. Does anyone know what's happening to him and what I can do?
Tanks in advance for any replies! :)

Sounds like swim bladder, try him on some shelled peas if he's still eating, let us all no how he goes.

I will crushed the peas first. They may be a bit big for him to swallow.

high nitrate levels can also cause sbd, but its most likely in this case to be the flakes. try to feed them sinking pellets which will stop them coming to the surface to eat. if you have to feed flake, then soak it first in a cup for a minute or two and then add under the water.
for the fish now thats upside down, dont feed him for two days and then give the squashed, deshelled pea, thats been microwaved for 4 minutes for a couple of days and see if that helps.
you might need to do this for all of them if the unbalanced one still tries to eat the flake.

R.I.P. Sorry for your loss.
