Hi all
One of my small black mollys has a problem and I wondered if anyone knew what it was? About halfway down his body a greyish/white coating has appeared on him - this has been there for a week or so now. His tail is clamped but he is eating well. It is literally like we've picked him up by the head and dipped him in something as the coating is covering the whole of his tail and half of his body. There are no spots, no fluffy stuff and no red edging. The coating stops in a straight line down the molly's body rather than having an undefined edge to it - it just stops and the body is normal at the front. I treated with Interpet No 7 (Velvet and Slime) on Friday but there's no difference so far. I had an adult black molly die last week of the same thing although he lasted about 2/3 weeks like that until he went.
Could this be slime disease and, if so, how long should the treatment take to work?
Thanks
