My black molly gave birth this morning. I knew she was getting ready to drop but everytime I put her in the trap she wouldnt drop. She had 63 fry I am just so excited! I was going to give some of the babies to my local fish store but they wont take fish. So when they get older I guess I will just put them online to sell.

Congrats on your new fry (again!) lol, 63, wow! How many times has she given birth so far?

Since I have had her this is her second drop. First drop was on February 25th and that yielded 38 fry. As soon as she was finished I put her back in the tank and the male black molly was all over her trying to mate. I seperated her for half the day and just put her back in. I didnt want her to get over stressed wouldnt you be if you just gave birth and the man was already all over you?

Well, I don't know how I'd feel if a man was all over me :/ (as I am one)
 But yes, I assume it would be very stressful!

Lols, thanks biokid, :)
To Ewooten, babies and mother still doing good?

Mom and babies doing good. Lost a few babies overnight about 8 but the others are strong and healthy. Mom is back in the regular tank still being chased by my alpha male as I call him because he gets with every female in my tank. Im sure in 6 weeks she'll be dropping again. I have a creamcicle that is pregnant and she'll be delivering in the next couple of weeks.

Congrats on the drop. It is time to do your best on preserving the fry and feeding them often enough to get lots of survivors. Both the creamsicle and the black females will receive the attention of your alpha male. They really don't care much about color at all. That means that the genetics of the fry will not be very predictable as long as both are kept in the same tank. Fry will take a full 4 weeks to develop starting at the time that the female uses a sperm packet to fertilize eggs inside her. In my own female's case, that was indeed 6 weeks with no males in the tank at the time. I cannot begin to predict how long it would take for a sexually active female to begin developing fry. They might well be along quicker than that for a new mating.

If you could tell me would a creamcicle female and a black male have all black fry or would they have a mixture of both. I would think that black being the dominant color would be most present.

I have no idea which of those colors dominates. I had a creamsicle cross with a dalmatian and the fry were all creamsicle in appearance but I do not know the genetics of either of the parent fish. All I knew about them was phenotype, the way their genes were expressed.
