i was looking more closely at my black molly, and i noticed a few things about her. she's bigger, she's being sort of aggresive twords the other fish, swimming around in the plants, and there is a white spot were her gravid spot is supposed to be. so, is she going to give birth any time soon?

Gravid spot is not supposed to be white at all and is more likely a sign of a fungal infection or slime coat disorder developing im sorry.

She's probably pregnant, her chest will get quite big towards the end of her pregnancy making her look a bit box shaped.

ya that's what she kinda looks like, she seems to eat less, harass fish more (that's including the betta). she kinda like swiming twords dead center of the tank, usually just going back and forth, is something wrong?

would normal fish flakes and two fish foods high in protien be enough?

off topic: ya! my keyboard is un stuck!

Sounds good to me. You might want to add in some blanched veggies though, because Mollies looooove veggies! :D

yes, but i have a question, when u blanch the veggies. can you leave some out, so like you don't have to blanch the food every single time you want to feed the fish?

Leave some out where?

The whole point of blanching the food is to soften it...if you put it in the 'frige it will just get hard, and if you just leave it out somewhere it can go bad quickly...

Blanching really doesn't take that long...you just boil some water, and drop the veggie in for a few seconds...we are talking 10 minutes max. Fish keeping isn't always quick and easy. :p

Just remember cucumber gets very hot when blanched so needs a fair bit of time in the fridge to cool down, mollys never eat the skin on the cucumber so you might as well cut it off.

ok, i've got all that jotted down, but is this ok what i am doing. when the molly has babies, i don't want to stress her out too much, so i won't put her in a breeder's trap. but is it ok, after she gives birth, i take all of the babies and put them in the breeders net? it seems like a good idea to me.

That's fine. However, watch for overcrowding, because Mollies can have lots of babies, and they are pretty big (for fry) when they are born, and they also grow quickly when given the right foods. So don't keep them in there too long.
