I have one Fantail Calico Goldfish all alone. She is my only fish. I have had previous fish but I would like Black Mollies. My question is if the goldfish and the black mollies will be alright in the same tank. I know the proper tank and supplies I would just like to know if they could be in the same tank.

They both have very different temperature requirements. Goldfish are coldwater fish and prefer temperatures 18-20 degrees whereas mollies are tropical fish and prefer temperatures of 24-27 degrees. Apart from this, goldfish are very messy fish and the blackmollies may not be able to handle this .

How many gallons is the tank?
I have kept platys with fancy goldfish with no problems, but they can sometimes eat them.

I have a 7 gallon tank with a complete filter system. My goldfish is very small maybe 1 inch or so.

I don't recommend the platy because they need at least 10 gal tank and yours is 7 gal tank very small to them. I will recommend to stock it with a betta and shrimps.

Tanks to small even for the goldifsh they need 20 gallons for the first goldfish alone, and double the filter so that would be a 40 gallon filter.
