I added an extra filter to the tank. It's all gone wrong. I've lost a good 65% of the livebearers. The fishes fins are being eaten away but nothing is showing on them. It's only effecting livebearers. I moved all of the livebearers to a hospital tank but well, I have taken 13 fish out today and I'd say another 10 will be dead before tonight.

I suspected poison in the water because I dropped a fuse in their so removed them. I moved 2 siamese fighters over to a tank with babies. Boiled everything, didn't bring over any water but obviously did the fish. Anyway the baby tank has a casualty today. A small baby wagtail platy has same symptons with tail eating away but it has gone a cloudy grey white colour. Looks like it wasn't poisoning.

Have you lost any fish to bent spines or being very thin.
The fins can be eaten away with columnaris.
