Black Lyre Tail Mollies With White Fungus?

If you have no scaless fish I would add some salt to the tank.
You really need anti internal bacteria med by interpet with the popeye and pimafix.

Yes move the affeced fish and do some water changes on main tank to dilute the bactreria down.

Ok, I'm off work tomorrow. I will get all the livebearers together and treat them. You can tell the ones without any physical signs are showing distress from the way they swim. So I will clear the tank of livebearers. I don't think I have any scaless fish anymore. I used to keep clown loaches in this tank but they are in another now. I've never had this problem before. Is the pop eye related because if not, surely there is a water problem somewhere.

I should be able to add aquatic salt to the tank. I add a very small dosage anyway for the livebearers.

Getting really worried now!

I wouldn't add all the salt to the main tank.
I would just add 4 tablespoonfuls to the main tank.

Use the aquatic salt if you have it in stock follow the instructions.
Good luck.

Thanks again. It's been added.

I'm scared of putting too much salt in. I normally add half a tea spoon when I do a 15% water change.

The full dosage is one tablespoon to every 5 gallons but I rarely use that dose.

In a bid of desperationg I put the infected fish into bags last night with small doses of salt and melafix and left them over night floating on the tank. The pop-eye has gone, probably due to the salt from what I have read and suprisingly the fish look about 50% better externally. I am going to sort the treatment tank now and keep it set up then move over all the livebearers. Hopefully in a few hours I will have the 2 treatments I need.

The treatments you suggested arrived early yesterday. I done exactly what it says including another water change. Amazingly apart from a tiny patch on the male mollies lip, all the other fish are over the worse and swimming normally again. I've bolied everything and will continue 4 more days medication anyway as it states but FANTASTIC sofar. Huge difference to my fish. No fish have died yet and they look better so all is good there.

On a bad note, I had a lot of silver & black lyre tail mollies delivered through courier for another tank set up just for them. They came with heat-packs but the water was ice-cold. I've lost 2 sofar from 20, today they are all covered in a slimey white. Will this improve? The temperatures dropped here from around 12c during the day to -4c at night and was totally unexpected!

Thanks very much for the help Wilder... The main tank looks in good shape. The fish are all swimming as they should and not sitting around and the white columnaris has vanished from site. I will continue with the treatment. It works a treat sofar.

The new fish that arrived are also looking alot and are on the road to recovery. I havn't lost 1 but there is one that won't come off the bottom of the tank. The others look like they are over the worse. Strange how the silver lyre tails seem stronger though.

Big thumbs up for the help and it is appreciated!

I would do the full myxazin course to make sure the columnaris nipped in the bud.
Well done and good luck.

Thanks again. I will continue the course! Love the smell of the Pimax! haha

Results not so good today in the main tank.

My orginal fish that were treated all cleared up, but It seems the guppies have been effected and their tails seem to be vanishing slowly but with no fungus are any sign of anything. I have worked exactly to the dosage but could it be effecting the guppies? or is this something else?

1 guppy died this morning that seemed fine 2 days ago. 1 doesn't look well and not eating + tail is vanishing. Seems like poisioning to me because it's on surface. 2 female also surfacing and clamping fins.

Just when you thought it was sorted eh.
