Black Light And Fish

so i talked to my biology professor and he thinks blacklights are a really bad idea. and as for the hurting their eyes, ya he said that was a real possibility too. there you go, from a bio major himself, though i think hes technically into the feild of genetics. good luck with that tank

Ok, i do know about blue moon lights and actinic bulbs, since i mentioned them in a previous post. However, i was just trying to gather information. I currently have a blue moonlight made from cold cathodes. And i've decided that i do not want to put a blacklight on, but i am curious what the effects would be. So no need to get into heated debates over it. lol

well they make your water look like $hit, milky and full of bits. even the most crystal clear of tanks look awful! and you need some power to reach the bottom of even a 18 inch deep tank, so i would agree that some of the colours fish we keep have, are most enhanced, the down side is so "down" they simply aren't worth it imo
