I was thinking about putting some bottom feeders in with my African Cichlids. I have a 75 gallon tank with a mix of Cichlids, do you think they might just kill a Kaluhi loach?

See the post that says "Pictures of my Africans" I'm bad with names. I have two Melanchromis (sp).

I have a coolie loach on my tank and my africans don't bother them at all, in fact my africans don't bother much with all my bottom feeders, they seem to be more agressive towards other africans that I just introduce to my tank....

Kahuli? Kuhil? No offense, but you guys have terrible spelling! I've kept my kuhli loaches with Africans before, and far from bothering them, I had one large male actually guard them. All the kuhlis stayed beneath one cave decoration, and he stay out in front of it and chase away any other fish that came near. The only problem was when they came out to swim around at night--he didn't know WHAT to do! The loaches, on the other hand, couldn't seem to care less.

I don't know what it is about them, but I have never seen any fish bother a kuhli loach. In fact, I even heard one story about a kuhli loach that hung out with a huge knife fish, and would even take bits of goldfish from its mouth when it was fed. I would be surprised if they were bothered by your cichlids. How many kuhlis do you plan on getting (they need to be kept in groups of 5 or more to be happy)?
