they grow to 20" so you need alot of space!

I have my BGK in with an adult Turquoise Severum and an adult Parrot Cichlid. They've been getting along just fine for over two years. I couldn't imagine a Convict being any more aggressive than those.

Generally, convicts are way more aggressive then severums and parrots.

Parrots and Severums are relatively peaceful as far as cichlids go, but convicts are porbably the most agressive cichlid you can find in the market. They would likely scar the BGK at some point because their nips are destructive. THe BGK is almost blind so it will wander into convicts territories and get ripped to shreds.

We have a convict at our work. It's a big wussy, got beat up by a bunch of Johanni and Peacock. I ended up putting him in a Hospital tank in the back for some bad injuries.

yeah it would depend on how many severums and convicts and how big are they. my black ghost is quite aggressive and started nipping the fins of my fire eel. i had to take him out after that.

EVery fish has it's own personality. But it's safer to say that they are not a great choice of tankmates. SOme people can put puffers with angelfish. Normally a stupid idea, and is a ticking time bomb situation. You just never know, but in general, it's not a good idea.

ive got 2 CONVICTS (both males i think as theyre both very colourful n look exactly the same). 3 GOLD SEVERUMS, 2 GREEN SEVERUMS AND BGK. ive read up that convicts r very agreessive but safe with severums.

well johanni are some of the most aggressive malawis you can get so thats not too bigger suprise.they shouldnt really be in the tank together anyway as there both from totally different familys.

yeah i bought the BGK as every1 said it wud be ok, i just wanted 2 know from sum1 with experience or sumthing, my convicts r breeding n eggs r laid so i guess theyre male n females lol nice1

I'd say your ghost knife is in trouble.

Breeding convicts will decimate a ghost knife.

They will probably also beat your severums up.
