Black Angelfish

lost my black angelfish this morning he had been getting bullied by the others was getting my spare tank up to temp for him but he never made it. i had heard that the black ones were more delicate anyway??? so maybe this combined with bullying was too much for him. still got 4 lovely angels left tho

Sorry about your loss. Especially on Christmas! Yes, Blacks are usually a weaker form of angelfish, but only in the terms of the survival rate as fry, and the fact they are slow growers. The bullying may have been too much.

yeah his fins were all ripped up so i rekon hed took a bit of a pasting overnight

ya i actually had a black angel before, but it died not long after i got. twas a bad experience with them, so i'd said i wouldnt get an angel again, which is a pity cos i think they're nice

ive heard quite a few people put black angels into tanks with perfect water stats only for them to die suddenly.

ya cos all other fish were grand and have been since. it lasted bout 3-4 days. maybe i will try again the future, hopefully with better luck

my black one lasted 2 days i got it with 2 others and i had 2 already and they are all fine as are all my other fish

I got a Black angel from a store once. It was very healthy. It actually almost killed my Dalmation Angel in a fight. So i sold him. He got anchor worm in the petstore and died ( R.I.P. ) . He was stunning. If he was new, he may have gone into shock from ph differnce, or you may have low nitrates and the store has high ones, which would shock him.
