ok, ive had my platys for around 4 months, and every 3-4 weeks the two females have fry.
i got these platys from another person who didnt want them anymore so have no idea of age, but know the only male they have contact with is the same colour as the females (orangey ones)

but as some of the older fry have grown up, i notice two are yellow with what i can only describe as red stripes on there fins and belly? also from the last two batches of fry (3 weeks old) it seems there are a few yellowy ones in there? ok their colours arent so good yet as they are so young, but you can see the difference between the yellow light ones and the ones that will be pure orange

is this some some of defect in the fish (their colour not coming out properely?) or are they sick??

i think it's normal. i have sunset fry that are totally clear for some reason, the mom is bright orange. they are about 6 months or so old now and still clear hehe.
i wouldn't fuss tooooo much with it if they are healthy and eating well they don't worry about it let them be. that is their beauty :) also besides, waiting for them to get their colours is fun to see it happen.
