ok so some might know about my t-bar's breeding in there temp tank, well there new tank is fully cycled and they were moved to it a few days ago...well problems have started! on the night they went into the tank they started mouth locking...for 4 hours  now anyway i went to bed leaving them to it...in the morning i checked up on them only to find her mouth all white and ripped up pretty bad and she looked totaly warn out...i guessd this was normal but ive been watching her and she just sits in the middle of the tank...she does this for hours! she doesnt seem to come to feed when the male does and ive noticed some stringy poo from her, he is also chasing her alot, thanks status as follows...

ammonina 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 10 (looks like it almost anyway) slightly lighter so maybe more 5? did have a water change yesterday!

so the only other thing with the tank is tannings being leaked from the driftwood in there....erm ive been advised to remove her from the tank by my lfs hes pretty good in there and has advised on trying to get her into a temp tank for a few weeks but i thought i would ask here first as the only other tank i have is the tank she spawned in and im worried that if i put her into there she will eat her young....help :(

I think it would be best to take her out now. Save the mother. Just get a bucket for the fry they don't need the tank put a heat and a sponge filter in the bucket and you are good to go.

Then put the mom back in the other tank to recover.

Or put up a divider in the tank you have them in. just make sure the father can't get at her.

Could be the male is ready to breed but the female isn't...so he gives her a beating...

yes i think that is what is happening ive been watching them today and he doesnt seem to be pestering her as much, he swims with her and only every now and then sorta of pokes her with his nose. he has also started to dig :hyper: im unsure if i should separate them yet...im going to give it untill tomoz and if they still are not getting on then i will separate the tank.

As long as your female is fine some fighting is just part of spawning with cichlids. If the female is fine and not too stressed no problem. Too much stress and you need to split them.
