Hi folks,

My female Mel.Parallelus (Black and White Auratus) is sick.

Have just found her at the bottom of the tank, upside down.

Picked her up with my net, turned her over and let her go but she just sank back to the bottom like a lead weight and turned upside down again!

Any idea what the problem is?? Malawi Bloat?? (This would be odd because I only ever feed flakes and cichlid pellets with a once-weekly/bi-weekly supplement of daphnia)

She has no obvious signs of any illness...still full of colour, no injuries etc etc,

water stats all fine, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 20.

All of the other fish are (seem!) perfectly ok.

I can't keep her the right way up and would be grateful for some ideas as to what is the matter with her.

Thanks in advance.

steve

Yeah, once they're upside down it's generally too late. If all the other fish look good and there's no signs of problems and the water is all good, then I like to call it 'natural causes'.

I agree sorry R.I.P.
