Hello,I bought my first aquarium about a year ago and with little help I just jumped into things and I lost alot of fish.I have since then done a lot of research and have started over.I bought a fluval 205 external filter for my juwel rio 125 tank and added carbon and biomax. It has been running for about 2 weeks now and I have noticed small white particles floating around the tank.Would this be coming from the biomax ?

Thanks Anthony

From a research of said biomax

The first thing that comes to mind is .. you cant ever cheat mother nature!!!
I personally don't see why you would ever need this if the tank is properly maintained.
You are 110% better utilizing a proper cycling, maintenance method than playing games with snake oil promises..

Sorry I just don't buy it..

Is it the biomax from Hagen? The ceramic rings? If so yes the little white particles could be coming from it. It's not the strongest material used as a bio media.

wouldn't the "best" approach be. correct me if I'm wrong, In detail please. be...
Less is more.. I could use every available, possibly useful, medium and hope I got it right..
I Think that.. I will for now anyway, use the Minimum.. A properly cycled filter, A constant attention to built bio waste, water changes based on paramiters and observation of my stock,

I would expect , A reasonably positive experience, a reduced if not eliminated need to use any medications or other adulterants except in the worst of situations.

I would feel that the use of ANYTHING outside of standard as a sign of weakening stock. of reduced attention to keeping.. unless for the express means of modifying the biotope..

phew!! a bit heavy Mauigirl, but I got there in the end..........
Lol, sorry I get going sometimes. some of that is best left in my head after I come back and read it.
