Hello everyone,

Just exactly as the title states.

I've been looking around for a different hood for my 20g and stumbled onto these. I'm having a little trouble finding reviews about them so that brings me here. Does anyone out there have them for freshwater tanks? How well do they work? Can the hood be modded to accept an additional external filter? Any feedback on these is appreciative. :good:

Thanks

I am also fairly new to the aquarium realm, but I have learned a lot with three tanks in three months.

I have a 10 gallon aquarium that is made by Regent, which is made by Marineland. I believe the Eclipse biowheel canopy, also made by MarineLand, is exactly like the one I have. The use of the biowheel from what I have read and seen for myself are great. The downside to these systems is that the water resevoir is big and awkward. I do not like the way the mechanical and chemical filtration is used in the setup. Another interesting thing to the unit is the light source is in the front. This allows for a clear lit viewing area yet the ability to access for simple feeding is a pain because you have to pull off the light source so that you don't make a mess of things.

A feature that I do like about this setup is it has access in the back left corner to access the heater unit and air tube lines.

Hope that helped.
