hi, i have had really bad problems with bio films on the tank walls of my fry tank/shrimp tank. i now also have algae but im not to worried about that, but is there anyway of reducing bio films. i have empties the tank and re fillled it again, i have changed decor in there, the heater is fairly new and the filter has come from my 120l. there is plenty of filtration as its only 38l and has a 2+ internal. whats happening?

You need to get more agitation of the surface of the water to eliminate this. I had it with my brackish tank and it went when I aimed the filter outlet more up to the surface :)

Wipe the glass down more often, do more water changes, and reduce feeding. Biofilms are caused by a build up of bacteria, which grow from excess food and poor water quality. Cleaning the tank conditions up will help reduce the occurrence.

Increasing filtration will only help if the current filter is not doing its job properly. However, more filtration would create more water movement and that will help with the problem.
