yes but if you paint it your stuck with the same background on that tank forever.

I have black painted backgrounds on four of my five tanks. Before initial setup i painted them with latex house paint using a small roller giving several coats so no light comes through. By using a roller once it dries it is very smooth with no brush stokes.
As far as ever changing it using a razor blade scraper will take it right off, but i think they will be like that for a long while because the black makes the fish stand out really nice.

Even though its only a bag, its a big difference on guppy mans tank...looks great...Nice Job

I used to have a big printer and a thingy that made it plastic covered (cant think of name right now!)
i did my own photoshop peices to go on the back of it
i want to do one with a field and a sky
so the fish look like they're flying
