Hi

I'm really happy, coz i got about 6 baby platies, all black cutes. Big problem they have all taken up residency up behind the bio-life filter in my TropiQuarium 88 tank!!!! Great i have managed to capture 2 and the others are still loose.

Suggestions to capture them again? why don't they make nets that have longer handles mine are too short!!!

My platies look like guppies? but no guppies in the tank (how weird?)

Score! These babies will be alot hardier and should all make it to adulthood with a bit of luck! Congrats!!  tips for catching them, usually i end uprooting the entire tank when i want to save some babies :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: i can always fix it afterwards :hyper:

ive heard some one uses a syphen. i recomend two nets or ten in some cases ive found it easyer to move the other fish rather than try and move the babies.

well i had to re-drain the tank down to remove the broken stand for the new one, which i had to totally dismantle the tank but it's all back up and running like normal and i even managed to catch 3 babies so i got 7 babies so far don't think there isnt any more. they were all hiding in the flower pots!!!!!

I was going to put my female in a breeder net but it was too late for that, maybe next time at least they didn't get eaten :D

i got 6 light cream with a few black dots on and 1 very black one which is bigger than the others.

I'm so pleased, didn't help for the fact that my new mum decided to jump out of the bucket when i was re arranging the tank after the move, she was laying on carpet god knows how long she been there but she was still alive when i pick her up.

Got another pregnant platy upstairs in my other tank so i will put her in the breeder net but first i need to remove the 19 baby guppies to a swim out tank
