Right been on the look out for big tanks and the biggest I can see if a Jewel 450l.

Where to people get their big tanks?

Any brands I should be looking out for or is it mostly custom made about 150gallons

ndaquatics.com built me this 100g tank

K so when we get over the 450 range it custom built then :)

I just checked out some of their prices that not bad tbh

that is a 4x2x2 which is one of their standard sizes but if you ring them i think they make to spec too

Aqua one do larger tanks, as do Rena, check out aquariums delivered (.co.uk)

depends on what you need to buy really . ie if you already have lights heaters etc then youre much better off spending the money on just the tank as you will get a much bigger better made tank i got my tank with cabinet for 438 ( 50 cheaper if you collect it ) it was delivered within a week in person by the fella whos company it is not just a courier who dont care about what hes carrying .he helped me carry it in unpack it and position it in the room . the build quality is 1st class as was the service i received. then i got a 2nd hand eheim cannister for 70 the arcadia twin light unit was 26 and 2 300w heaters for about the same . also the "big" tanks on aquariums delivered tend to be tall and skinny which does nothing to improve stocking options. at the end of the day its pretty much horses for courses and personal taste but having looked at just about every "package tank" there is on the web and now having this one made id never get a package tank again.

example any tank i found big enough was either not availiable in the colour i needed to fit in with my living room or the cabinet looked crappy with ndaquatis and im sure the other tank makers too you can choose colour cabinet style ie number of doors etc clear or black silicone you can even have a background floated onto the glass if you so desire so it really can be tailored to your tastes/needs/budget .

what kind of budget are you working with?

is it ndaquatics.co.uk?
I've found them on google, but the site doesn't load for me

edit: scratch that, i can now get on but the site is running really slow

yes thats the site i just went on it and it loaded fine. what web browser are you using?

i use firefox and also safari both working fine maybe just high traffic

no budget set yet but got 700 pounds savings. Also I thought that totally went over my head is my dad is a very good carpenter/joiner co could get him to make a cabinet.

1 big problem though from N.Ireland!!!

Anyone know any custom builders from here or down south?

am toying with the idea. There a few things that i might go for instead nano marine, dlrs camera or a home cinema set up :/

700 will get you an amazing custom made set up i had a budget of 600 and got the lot done for that not sure about makers in ireland tho good luck

i sure your local shops would know where to get one. you can order one through them and if you don't mind them ripping you off a little, it should make things alot easier
