I've been running a blackout for only 2 days so far (algae) and just decided to have a check on how things are going inside.

Things have gone from fine and dandy to an unbelievable mess.

I have a young angel with shredded fins lying on the bottom, a very lethargic large keyhole who's gills seem to be going ten to the dozen but no mouth movement, a slightly smaller keyhole who's dashing and banging into things and everything seems to be pale and generally lethargic with random darting around.

Whats happened?

this is a rio 180 with
4 keyholes, 2 bolivian rams, 2 young angels, a red head tapajo and 3 oto's.
It has 2 fluval U4's running on it and nothing has altered within the tank for around 3 weeks.

Help!

Could you test the water and put the results here?

I haven't got round to getting test kits sorted still yet stupidly.

However I think I may be able to put it down to a case of shock on the most part from the sudden light after 2 days darkness. Everything seems to be colouring up nicely now and acting 'normally'.

Feel a bit stupid for my over reaction now :X

Still doesn't explain the young angel though -_- . I wonder if it has been getting bullied by the slighly larger one, although I've never noticed this happening :/ I've seperated it off from the rest but it isn't looking promising for it.

Yeah I was going to say the light shock can sometimes really mess things up. I came back from hols the other day and there was no lights for a few days then when the light came on the fish looked spooked but yeah I know the feeling I wouldnt worry too much...

The young angel died today, couldn't tell you why though. Was swimming or limping on its side and pretty lifeless.

Never really grew though either since I got it whereas the other which came with it has doubled in size
