I have a 45G or 171L

MY Perameters at home are excellent
At the store the guy told me NItrate was slightly high, but nothing bad

I lose 1-2 new fish every week.

I was wondering could it be some one in the tank killing the fish

The fish that always die
Clown Loach
Angels
Gold Nugget PLeco

When tank is fully stocked
6 Black Skirted Tetras(have not lost one yet)
2 Bannded Gourami(Have not lost one yet)
3 Clown Loaches
2 Angels
1 Tiny Briselnose Pleco
1 Gold Nugget
1 Common Goldfish

6 Live Plants

I add 7mL of Patassium twice a week
I add 4mL of Excel once a week
I add 3mL of Florish once a week

Feed every other day= Algae Tablets, Flakes, 2 types of Pellets, Frozen SHrimp, FRozen Bloodworms, Frozen Shrimp codded in Algae.

25% water change every 2 weeks.

Well the fish that keep dieing are the more sensitive ones, so what is your nitrate reading?

Also clown loaches get too big for that tank, so you either have to upgrade in the future. or swap them out for something different. And the goldfish is a coldwater fish and should not be in a tropical tank, it also will get too big.

Have you recently added new fish? I would start doing more water changes. And I agree, the loaches get to big and the goldfish are coldwater and should not be kept in that tank. They also get way way to big for that tank. They get huge.

If you recently added new fish they may have brought in an illness.

Is there any flashing? (rubbing on rocks)
Any tiny grain like salt on the fish which is ick?
Any fungus or red spots/streaks?

To me it sounds like something is wrong with your water parameters if the sensitive ones keep dying. Did he tell you exactly what your water parameters were? Is there any chance you get your own testing kit? The liquid is much more accurate then the dip sticks.

No ick.

Have added FIsh a few times. Every time they die. Clown Loaches grow very slow. I know Goldfish are cold water, but have no other place to put it. Nitrate and Nitrite are good, along with Amonia and PH. Only once have I seen Ick.

I'm not trying to pile on but what exactly are your water parameters? Is Nitrate a little high or is it good? Ehat about kH, gH and pH?

What is your substrate and water temp?

Have the fish all been from the same store? Is it possible that they just got a bad batch of fish? Have you asked the store to check their water parameters?

The first goldifsh alone needs 20 gallons as they are massive waste producers.
They also need double the filter size to the tank.
Can we take a look at your water stats.

Then I think it's your water if they keep dying in there. Please post your exact water parameters so we can help.
Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH.

If there is no place to put your goldie I strongly recommend you give it up. They need coldwater and the tank will be overcrowded. The tank is not set up for a goldfish. I have six and they are in a coldwater tank. Most fish can’t handle coldwater so that is why it is best to house goldies in a species tank.

Filter is a Aquaclear 70
Heater is a 250W Marineland Submergable

The fish came for 3 stores. All die.

Never tested any of my tanks for KH or GH

My Substrate is Gravel

My only thing is my Nitrate is slightly high. But nothing more then slight. My LOcal store also tested my water and said my Nitrate was slightly high, but far from deadly levels.

Only fish that die are my Angels, Gold Nuggets and Clown Loaches. My Black Skirted Tetras, Banded Gourami, Briselnose PLeco and Gold Fish never die.

I don't really understand why you are not posting your water stats (actual numbers) when so many people asked. Do you not have the actual numbers? If you don't have your own test kit at home, I seriously suggest you get one.

I agree that the goldfish needs to be rehomed. Sell it or donate it to someone with a nice big coldwater tank, or even better, a pond.

Can you confirm the size of the tank as well... 171 liters isn't 45 gallons.

171l is roughly 37g
45g is roughly 203l

8 gallons could easily make a difference to how many fish you can keep in the tank.

171 litres is 45 US gallons, so its safe to bet that 171 litres is the size of the tank and the OP was using US gallons
