Last night I found this cone shaped snail on one of my plants.it was approx 0.5 inches long and shaped like a cone.
It was eating what appeared to be algae on the plant. It then seemed to burrow into the substrate and I cannot find it now.
What do I do with it..keep it or get rid?

Thanks

Sounds like a Malaysian trumpet snail, very good for turning the sand over & eating detritus but they breed like crazy. I know people who introduce them to do those tasks & others who are over-run wth them & consider them pests.

ive had several of these in each on my tanks for about two months (the lfs just gave them to me-go figure)...they do a great job of turning the sand...i have yet to see any babies. id keep him if i were you. snails just add a bit more interest in a tank, i think.
cheers.
