Ok I was just browsing ebay in my sad little life :good: and saw this. They do a 200w one as well and it would save me a lot of money. So what do all you extperts think. Please let me know how impratical it could be.

By the way I doubt I will actually use this but it is worth considering?

Yep, should work well I'd thought. Not the prettiest thing to have above your tank though. Now I wonder what sort of hydroponic plant grower these are aimed at.

yeah that crossed my mind too but I honestly found them while looking for SAD bulbs :rolleyes:
 
Not to poo poo this idea, cos obviously I was interested enough to look. lol but look at this one

Same bulb but 250W. It is the length of a mans forearm and wider than a forearm. If the 250 is this size how big is the 125. Might have problems with it being too close to the water IMO.

Damn thats dashed my cheap light solution. lol

I have an incandescent hood,and I used the small compact fluorescent screw in lights(25w) to replace the origional kind. I worked perfectly for me. :good:

Yeah they are not any good for my innitial poject but my other tank has a huge hood so mighht consider it for in there. That is one big bulb though :drool:
