Big Big Clean

Hi guys and gals, Im thinking about having a very big clean, just wondering what everyone has done

can i re home fish for a if i empty my tank, or is this a big no no?

what exactly is it you want to do? most can be done with the fish still in the tank, but if you really need to strip everything down then get some large toy tubs put your heater and filter and some tank water in and knock your self out.. rather you than me tho

perhaps ill just give it a good clean when fish are still in there

maybe 50% water change, clean and move/update decor then fill back up

could be the best way

the best thing would be, instead of a 30% water change, conduct a 50-60% water change twice, a day or two apart, if your tank really needs it that is?

im sure it would be

you will be surprised at how much you can still do , just be carefull with moving decs etc so not to stress them more than you need, give the gravel a good vac scrub the decorations and clean the glass, try to make sure the water that goes back in is about the same temp as what you take out, soo do we get to see a before and after tank shot?

oh its really lovely.. i would just have a general tidy up/wipe down, deffo nothing major needed in there.. tho if youre interested mine could do with a good clean

both to be honest

i have only have a sponge pad thing for the algae so getting a proper scraper tomorrow so i can clean teh glass properly then going to get rid of the plastic plants and get more bog wood and some slate to build some caves

all sounds very exciting, i`ll be sure to pop in and look for new photos - im like a kid in a sweet shop when i go to the LFS

Though its already been said a 50% change would be good, your tank looks pretty clean to me. as for the algae scraper, look for the "mag-float" kind, they are pretty slick. GL

Hi there , think I'll look in also, it's always nice to see other folks tanks.....
Just gave mine a good clean out and whats the first post i stumble upon?
Had my plants in tupperware dishes with rocks and java moss round the edges, tons of bits of plants etc floating around, gutted out all the debri , took out the tupperware , replanted everything in one corner , made a smal rockscape and stuck all the java moss under in and around a fake root I have ....
Much more room now , even the cories are going bonkers and they have been hidind for ages , nicer looker more spacious tank , hope the fish like it
