Hi.
I've got my betta male from the Pet's Mart and he was miserable at that time. Now he is big, really big, bigger than I see in the stores. Do you think he is old ? He is not fat and he is a very good swimmer. He used to live in a 10 gal with neons and shrimps and he was a very nice calm fish until the chinese algae eater (for which I found another home because he got very big too) started fighting. And then my betta started atacking everybody. You should see that ! He was so fast ..... Now he is in 2.5 gal by himself. He is eating anything but he loooves frozen brine shrimp. How long is he going to live ?
Thanks.
L

Hard to tell how old he is if there is no photo, thing is it sounds like you may have a half giant there though.

Rule of thumb with male betta's in the UK is that they are about 9 months old so you have about 1/2 years max left with them, depending on how they are being kept in the lfs or their previous history.

Is he short finned or long finned, post a pic so that we can make a better opinion on his age :good:
