My younger sister been looking after fish, but recently had to use a wheel chair which make looking after her 4 tanks hard work. She gave me her 4x1ft Tank with works and I have taken over from new. Really am enjoying it as I am into PC gaming, beer and lads stuff!

Found this site a great tool, and didn't relise that it isn't a case of throwing some water and fish in a tank. A very interesting hobby, it has been over 4/5 weeks now since start, after week 2 i got my self 6 x platys as pictures show, I am now off out again to see what else I can get. I know what I want thanks to this site, so hoping to come back with some neons. (before I choose I will be reading through some bookmarked posts here to hep me decide)

Thought I add used around 75 real plants along side 8 fake plants to give it some depth.

I like it too. You'll have to take some more pics when you've added some more fish. :good:

LFS had 10 x bunches for £17.50 so bought them plus a few more, took me ages to get them all in and sort out where and how etc. Just popping back there to get some neons for the little one, as he likes the colours and shapes.

its reali expensive over here in ireland for plants :-(

awesome tank but i would be wary on that stand, doesnt seem like a whole lot of supprt there, may cause some leaking in the future.

yah the stand kinda looks a bit small.their is a lot of space at the sides

the stand actually got 1 inch think wood across on my old sturdy PC cabinet! It has all been screwed together. Was hoping to transfer at later date, but would be hard as I have screwed the support to the cabinet. I should of waited until I got a better stand, but too excited.

I have seen some nice displays in the many LFS around em so may get one of these and restart, only problem is that the location it is now is where I would like to have it, so it is going to be a logistical nightmare to change over tanks!

what other kind of fish are you going to get?

6 x tetra neons (jumbo)
1 x Clown Pleccy

That will do for me a for weeks and help with the cycle!

good choice the plecs always good to have and i also love the neons too :good: :good: :good: goodluck

Added some more pics, new tank which has been rebuilt and a new hood added. Finish doesn't look to good with the flashlight, but i am happy with it.

This is the new tank in the dinning room, just lasckign light really at present.

The sideboard was a ebay item that was bought, stripped, stained and varnished just for the fish tank. Looking good at present (in my eyes)
